Royal Gun Dogs(530) 341-4496

Accessibility Statement

Effective: October 27, 2026

Royal Gun Dogs ("Royal Gun Dogs," "we," "us" or "our") wants royalgundogs.com (the "Site") to be usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities, and wants everyone to be able to get the information and help they need about gun dog training. This Accessibility Statement describes the standard we aim to meet, the measures we have taken, the tools available on the Site, the limitations we know about, and how to get help or tell us about a problem. If you need help now, call or text Richard Gebhart at (530) 341-4496 or email royalgundogs@yahoo.com.

1. Our commitment

Finding out about gun dog training and how to reach Richard should not depend on how well you can see a screen, use a mouse or read small print. We aim to design and maintain the Site so that people who are blind or have low vision, who are deaf or hard of hearing, who have mobility or dexterity limitations, or who have cognitive, learning or neurological disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate and use it. Whatever the Site can or cannot do, Richard can help you by telephone, by text or by email.

2. Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG defines how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities and is organized around four principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.

3. Conformance status

The Site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content may not fully conform to the standard. The parts most likely not to conform are content provided by third parties and the limitations described in Section 10. We are working toward full conformance for the content we control and correct issues as we learn about them.

This status is based on our own evaluation, described in Section 9. It is not a certification by any third party.

4. Measures we have taken

The Site was built with accessibility in mind. The measures we have taken include the following.

Structure and navigation:

Keyboard access and focus:

Forms, tools and messages:

Images, color and text:

  • Semantic HTML, so that headings, lists, buttons, links, tables and forms are identified correctly to browsers and assistive technologies.
  • Page landmarks, such as the header, navigation, main content and footer, so that screen-reader users can move directly to each part of a page.
  • A "Skip to content" link at the start of every page, so that keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass the menu.
  • A logical heading structure on each page, and a table of contents at the top of long pages such as this one.
  • A site map page that lists the pages of the Site in plain text links.
  • Menus that work with a keyboard. Each dropdown menu has its own button that opens and closes it and announces whether it is expanded, so keyboard users do not have to rely on a mouse hover.
  • The Escape key closes open menus, the mobile menu, the chat window and the before-you-go panel.
  • When the mobile menu is open, the rest of the page is set aside so that keyboard and screen-reader focus stays in the menu.
  • Focus management in the before-you-go panel. When it opens, keyboard focus moves into it and stays within it until it is closed, and when it closes, focus returns to where you were.
  • A visible focus indicator, so that keyboard users can see which link, button or field is selected.
  • A visible label for each form field, including the fields for your dog's breed, age and training goal.
  • Error messages in plain words that are announced to screen readers, with the field marked as invalid and focus moved to it so you know what to fix.
  • Status messages, such as "Sending...", announced through ARIA live regions.
  • Human verification that runs in the background. Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which usually confirms that you are a person without asking you to solve a puzzle. If it does ask you to do something, that step is provided by Cloudflare; if it stops you from sending a form, please call or text (530) 341-4496 instead.
  • A chat window that is announced as a dialog, with a labeled message box and new replies announced to screen readers.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images, and empty alternatives for purely decorative ones.
  • Text and background colors chosen for strong contrast, and information that does not rely on color alone.
  • Text that can be enlarged with your browser's zoom or text-size settings without losing content or function, and layouts that adapt to phone, tablet and desktop screens.
  • Respect for the "reduce motion" setting on your device, so that animations are limited if you ask for that.
  • Links with clear, descriptive text, and telephone numbers and email addresses that can be activated with a tap or click.

5. The accessibility menu

The Site includes an accessibility menu provided by ADAWebPro. You can open it from the accessibility button that appears on the Site. Depending on the page, it lets you adjust the display and reading experience to suit you. Typical options include:

Your choices are saved in your browser so that they stay in place as you move between pages. They are not sent to us. The menu is a convenience that works alongside, not instead of, the features built into the Site and into your own browser and assistive technology, which you may find work better for you. You can reset the menu at any time.

  • Increasing or decreasing text size.
  • Switching to higher contrast or other color schemes.
  • Highlighting links or headings.
  • Changing the spacing of text or the font used.
  • Pausing animations.
  • Enlarging the cursor.

6. Using the Site with a keyboard

You can use the Site without a mouse. Common keys include:

  • Tab and Shift+Tab to move forward and backward through links, buttons and form fields.
  • Enter or Space to activate a link or button.
  • Escape to close an open menu, the chat window or the before-you-go panel.
  • Arrow keys within menus and lists where the control supports them.
  • The "Skip to content" link, which appears when you first press Tab on a page.

7. Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

We design the Site to work with current versions of the major desktop and mobile browsers and with commonly used assistive technology, including screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack, screen magnifiers and voice control software. Because browsers and assistive tools differ and change, we cannot promise that every combination will work perfectly. If you find a problem, please tell us as described in Section 13.

8. Technologies the Site relies on

The Site relies on the following technologies to work with the way the browser and assistive technology interact:

These technologies are supported by the major browsers. Some features, such as the chat window, the before-you-go panel and the accessibility menu, depend on JavaScript. If JavaScript is turned off, the main content and our contact details remain available as ordinary text and links.

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • WAI-ARIA

9. How we assess accessibility

We assess the Site by reviewing its pages against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, using a mix of automated checking tools and manual review, including keyboard-only use, zoom and text enlargement, and checks of color contrast, headings and form labels. We review the Site when we add or change pages and features. These are our own evaluations.

10. Known limitations and alternatives

Despite our efforts, some parts of the Site may not be fully accessible. The limitations we know about include:

If any limitation stops you from getting information or help, the alternatives in Section 12 are available.

  • Embedded Google map. A map of the area may be embedded on some pages. It is provided by Google and may not be fully usable with a keyboard or screen reader. The address and directions are also given as text, and Richard can explain how to get there by phone.
  • Third-party sites. Links to sites such as Google, Facebook, Instagram, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the American Kennel Club lead to content we do not control, which may not meet the same standard.
  • Photos and older content. Some photos or older pages may have descriptions that are less detailed than they should be. We are improving them as we find them.
  • Chat assistant. The chat assistant is an automated tool, and some people may prefer to talk with Richard by phone instead. That is always an option.
  • Human-verification checks. In rare cases the spam check on a form may ask for an extra step. If you cannot complete it, call or text (530) 341-4496.

11. Third-party content

Some content on the Site is provided by third parties, including embedded maps, social media links, review services and the accessibility menu. We choose providers with care, but we do not control their code and cannot guarantee that it is fully accessible. If a third-party feature gives you trouble, please let us know and use the alternatives below.

12. Other ways to get information and help

You do not need to use the Site to reach us or to get information. You can:

Richard will do his best to provide information in a way that works for you.

  • Call or text Richard Gebhart at (530) 341-4496 and he can answer questions, read information to you or talk through anything on the Site.
  • Email royalgundogs@yahoo.com and ask for the information in another format or by another method.
  • Use the form on our contact page, or ask for a call back.

13. Feedback and requests for help

We welcome feedback. If you have trouble using any part of the Site, find a barrier, or have a suggestion, please tell us:

Please include the page address, a description of the problem, and the browser or assistive technology you use, if you can. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback promptly and to help you get the information you need in the meantime. We review what we learn and work to fix issues in the content we control.

14. Legal framework

Accessibility is important to us as a matter of good practice. We design toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which is widely used as a measure of web accessibility, and we take into account laws that apply to California businesses, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act and California's Unruh Civil Rights Act. This Statement describes our goals and efforts; it is not a guarantee or a legal conclusion about the Site's conformance.

15. Ongoing effort and review of this Statement

Accessibility is ongoing work. We review the Site and this Statement from time to time, and when we make significant changes. We will update this page and its effective date when we do. See also our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
