Which breeds does Richard train?
Richard's programs are for pointers and retrievers: Puppy Camp is an introduction for both, the waterfowl programs are for retrievers and Formal Gun Dog Training is for pointing dogs. For a spaniel or any other breed, ask Richard.

Richard started with retrievers in 2002. In 2013, under Steve Klassen at Blue Ridge Kennels, he expanded to pointers and other upland breeds. That history is why the site covers both waterfowl and upland dogs.
Retrievers and upland dogs
Labrador, golden and Chesapeake retrievers are the usual waterfowl partners, and the Basic Waterfowl Program work follows the Rex Carr method Richard learned under Billy Sargenti. Pointing breeds such as the German shorthaired pointer, Brittany and Vizsla start with Puppy Camp and come back for Formal Gun Dog Training once they are over a year old.
The breed pages describe each breed's history and usual training path. They are reference pages, so they do not list which dogs Richard accepts.
Mixed breeds and others
If your dog is a mix, a spaniel, a setter or something this site does not name, ask. Richard has trained dogs from competition prospects to home companions, and he will tell you honestly whether your dog suits the work you have in mind. Bring the dog's age, size, temperament and the kind of hunting you do, and the conversation goes faster.
Owners come from every part of California. Distance is a drop-off question, not a breed question, and Richard handles that part directly.
